What Is the [SCAN]?
Scan is the function that scans the original and converts it to data.
This system has the network scanner function, enabling you to send data via the network as shown below.
- Send scanned data as an attachment file by email
- Upload scanned data to the FTP server, SMB server, or WebDAV server
- Scan data from the computer on the network using the Web service function
Scanned data can also be stored on the HDD of the system, or in the USB flash drive connected to this system. The scan data stored on the HDD can be imported to network-connected computers by using the TWAIN-compliant applications and the HDD TWAIN driver.
NOTICE
- The scan function is available on a product equipped with a scanner and HDD.
- The optional Paper Feeder Unit PF-713 and Upgrade Kit UK-112 are required to use the scan function in this system.
Scan data is sent in the following file types:
- PDF, PDF/A-1a, or PDF/A-1b
- CompactPDF, CompactPDF/A-1a, or CompactPDF/A-1b
- TIFF
- XPS
- JPEG
Also, when scanning, set [Original Setting], [Quality Adj.], [Zoom], [Application], [Color], [Color Space], [Scan Size], [Resolution(dpi)], [Simplex/Duplex], or [File Type].
The main procedure for scanning from the system is as follows.
- Set a destination to send scan data.
- Configure the setting ([Original Setting] or [Quality Adj.]) to scan data.
- Press the Start on the Control panel to start scanning.
